We have just launched a new website in collaboration with a fantastic artist, Don Howard.  It’s called “How to Draw and Paint Smart.” Initial Response to the site so far has been tremendous. It was originally conceived as a resource for Home School kids but it seems a lot of people are looking both fun recreational drawing projects and art instruction. We are going to strive to meet those needs by adding new lessons each week. I had several moms tell me they excited about picking up on drawing skills they have not used since 3rd grade.  The want to be able to draw their own birthday adn holiday cards and work on those with thier kids. We are making sure we have plenty of holiday related simple to draw images to help out.  It is a joy to be able to draw things and we are excited to share that.

Ever wondered how to wrap or warp an image onto something. I found an excellent tutorial at Creativebits.org. It uses Photoshop CS2’s warp feature combined with some ingenuity to accurately place a label on a photo of a bottle. I tested it out with the Photoshop class I teach at Calhoun Community College.  I must admit warp tool can be a bit like pushing picture mush around, but once I got the hang of it it was a lot of fun and worked well.  Depending on the angle of your target object, you may want to use the Distort tool first to get the perspective right, then go ahead and use the warp tool to tweak the curves. It really depends on what you are tryng to accomplish.
