Before you dive into 3D Animation, it’s best to know some of the vocabulary. This video tutorial introduces you to objects, polygons, verticies and other common 3D animation terms.

Object: A 3D representation of an object. The objects holds data such as location, scale and rotation.
Mesh: The net-like structure of a 3D object
Polygon: A closed geometric shape
Triangle: A 3-sided polygon
Quadrangle (Quad): A 4-sided polygon
Vertex (plural verticies): The corner points of a polygon
Edge: A one-dimensional line segment joining two verticies
Face: Any of the polygons that make up an objects boundaries
Normal: The direction a polygon faces
